Acinetobacter Lwofii, an unusual cause of infectious pericarditis complicated with cardiac tamponade: a case report

چکیده
Bacterial pericarditis can be considered a rare pathology, usually associated with cardiac procedures and, to lesser extent, immunosuppression and chronic diseases. The importance of its knowledge lies in the fact that mortality reach up 100% untreated patients. Once diagnosed, pericardiocentesis administration intravenous antimicrobial therapy are mandatory for prevention complications, which include tamponade sepsis. Here we present an exceptional case infectious due Acinetobacter Lwoffii older adult, was complicated by pericardial effusion tamponade.

An Unusual Cause of Cardiac Tamponade during Cardiac Catheterization Study
Introduction. Catheter-based diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are rapidly advancing. However, catheter related complications sometimes become life threatening. Cardiac tamponade is a rare but serious complication of this procedure. We have summarized one cardiac tamponade pejoration due to secondary coronary vessels laceration by the implanted pericardial drainage. Case report. A 4-year-ol...
متن کاملCLINICOPATHOLOGIC CORRELATIONS Uremic Pericarditis as a Cause of Cardiac Tamponade
Uremic pericarditis may complicate either acute or, more commonly, chronic renal failure. When dialysis is not employed, uremic pericarditis is usually a preterminal event and is characterized by a serofibrinous exudation of an amount inadequate to cause cardiac tamponade. Nevertheless, cardiac tamponade may uncommonly be observed in nondialyzed patients. Cardiac tamponade, which may be life-th...

متن کاملA Case of Primary Bacterial Pericarditis with Recurrent Cardiac Tamponade.
Cardiac tamponade is an important and potentially lethal complication of acute pericarditis. However, recurrence of cardiac tamponade is rare when it is treated appropriately. We present a 49-year-old man with bacterial pericarditis and recurrent cardiac tamponade, which was caused by the rupture of an upper part of the left atrium (LA). According to the autopsy findings, bacteremia from Staphy...
متن کاملRecurrent Primary Chylopericardium: An Unusual Cause of Cardiac Tamponade
Chylopericardium is a rare clinical entity in which chylous fluid accumulates in the pericardial cavity. We report a case of recurrent massive idiopathic chylopericardium with tamponade in a 3-year-old infant with no history of trauma, thoracic surgery, malignancy, infection or tuberculosis. Echocardiography showed a large amount of pericardial effusions with evidence of tamponade. And 450 mL o...
